Classification and Characteristics of Industrial Waste Gas

Industrial waste gas mainly comes from industries such as chemical, metallurgy, painting, printing, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and food processing. It is characterized by complex components, large differences in toxicity, and high emission volumes.

Common types of waste gas include: Organic waste gas (VOCs): Such as benzene, toluene, xylene, formaldehyde, styrene, etc., mainly from spraying, printing, and chemical production.

Inorganic waste gas: Such as sulfides (SO₂, H₂S), nitrogen oxides (NOx), chlorine gas (Cl₂), ammonia gas (NH₃), etc., commonly found in power plants, steel plants, and fertilizer plants.

Particulate waste gas: Such as dust, soot, fog droplets, etc., from the building materials, mining, and metal processing industries.

Malodorous waste gas: Such as thiols, amines, volatile fatty acids, etc., commonly found in sewage treatment plants, landfills, and food processing plants.
